This is beyond scary.
Could you ever imagine if you were a small business who conducted business with a state government, or received some form of government assistance to conduct your business, that you would forced to pay union dues?
According to the story linked above, that is exactly what some government worker's unions are trying to do, and have done already in a few states.

More Peace and Love from the Left
Time and time again the left and their lackeys in the lame stream media have said the rhetoric and actions from the right are violent or promote violence. It is a narrative they keep pounding at that those who don’t care to educate themselves actually believe the right is a violent group of people. Yet they have no proof.
Yet time after time, it is the left that has the market cornered on violence and violent rhetoric. Shall we review?
The Longshoreman’s strike in Longview WA. Gate guards held hostage, equipment destroyed, threats of violence made towards law enforcement, etc. The funniest part of this is that this union was violently protesting against another union.
A union thug attacks a 5’-1” young woman, pushing her. The young woman was being physically assaulted for being part of the “violent” Tea Party. The irony drips.
SEIU thugs attack and beat Kenneth Gladney, a man selling Tea Party materials outside a convention center. The oddest thing about this attack on Gladney, a black man, by progressive, the supposed protectors of the under-privileged, is that he wasn’t even a Tea Party member, but an entrepreneur working hard to make a buck. You should read some of the rhetoric that came out after the beatings. One NAACP leader called Gladney an “Uncle Tom.”
See a good video after the break.

The NLRB is at it Again
Want more proof that the Obama Administration is in the union’s back pockets (Click here)? The National Labor Relations Board is putting together a policy that would publish the names and addresses of non-union members who are contracted to fill positions vacated by striking union workers.
At the link, the post gives you an opportunity to go to the NLRB’s comment site and leave a comment of support or non-support of this new policy. I did leave a comment. But the scary thing is they want your address. I will not be surprised if I receive some form of harassment because of my actions.

Union on Union Action (UPDATE)
See Update below the fold
Do we have the first incident of violence from the unions in response to Hoffa SOB comment? Longshoremen in Longview, WA (Just down the road from PACNW Righty) stormed a grain loading facility, taking security guards hostage, damaging railcars and other equipment, and threatening law enforcement officers with baseball bats.
Despite a restraining order against the union, brought about by threats vocalized last week, the Longshoremen still were able to bring port operations to a halt.

OK, we have had many incidents of violence from union thugs, so it is quite possible we can’t lay the blame at Hoffa’s doorstep. But the timing does seem a bit odd. What I find even stranger, was these union protesters were protesting against other unions. Yes, you heard that right, the Longshoremen were taking out their rage against another union.
Despite a restraining order against the union, brought about by threats vocalized last week, the Longshoremen still were able to bring port operations to a halt.
Furthermore, Longshoremen actions have basically brought port operations to a halt in both Portland and the Puget Sound region.
I'd like to point out something here. These Longshoremen are acting if those jobs belong to them and the union. They are saying that it is their right to work at the port.. But it appears that the shipping company and the Port of Longview feel differently. As long as union members feel they work for the union and not the company that hired them, these troubles will persist. The jobs belong to the company that is providing them, not to the individual and to the unions.

Unions Thugs from Across the Year
In honor of Labor Day Michelle Malkin has posted a not-so-top ten of union thuggish behavior from the past year. Lots of video and heated words. Of course there is plenty of civility from the left. Worth your time.

Union Goons at Their Finest
You have to wonder how long it will be before a union thug actually kills someone. This was a case of luck. Twelve inches down or to the right and this doesn’t get interviewed.
See the interview here.
See the interview here.
Someone form the pro union side might ask why don’t I ask the same question regarding the folks on the rights. Well, I guess what you’ll have to do is point out to me some ACTUAL cases of violence from right. There is plenty of talk about how violent and racist the Tea Party is, but there are no actual provable cases.
You are always hearing from the left about how the right is violent and that we use heated rhetoric. The last I saw, nobody from the Tea Party has been actually accused of beating someone who didn’t agree with a Tea Party stance. I have never heard of people who were not union shooting at the owners of a union-run shop. Have you ever heard about people from the Tea Party threatening a school superintendent as he tries to save the school district money? You never hear about a conservative politician saying “you’re f------g dead” to a member of the opposition. Somebody needs to point out to me the last time a Republican politician called for blood in the streets.
Now we have graduated from threats of deadly violence to an actual attempt on someone’s life. At what point in time will President Obama step in and tell his supporters that enough is enough? Mr. Obama, does somebody actually have to die for you to say something to your supporters about the hateful rhetoric they spew? What is it going to take for you to show some leadership and take those people to the woodshed for the ass-chewing they deserve?

SEIU Thuggery Handbook Exposed
As many of you have read here, I from time to time, like to point out when union thugs at in violent manner. This is to show the peace loving, tolerant side of the left. Click on Union Thugs over under Categories over on the left side of the blog.
Although unions were once a good thing, providing a giant shove forward for the middle class, they long ago lost their way. No longer is a union a there to protect workers from so-called exploitation at the hands of “evil business owners”. They have become a leader in the socialist and communist movements in the USA.
One of the leading culprits is the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). These are the folks that beat up Kenneth Gladney, who was selling Tea Party memorabilia outside a convention. The men accused of beating Gladney were recently acquitted of the crime despite strong video evidence their attack on him was unprovoked.
In an interesting exposure, it was recently discovered that SEIU has put together a handbook on how to intimidate owners and managers of businesses SEIU wishes to organize. This booklet details ways to make it difficult for businesses to operate by interfering with potential customers and other facets of support to the businesses. The following is excerpts from a column by F. Vincent Vernuccio of the Washington Times.
SEIS’s manual details how “outside pressure can involve jeopardizing relationships between the employers and lenders, investors, stockholders, customers, clients, patients, tenants, politicians, or other on whom the employer depends for funds.” The union advises using legal and regulatory pressure to “threaten the employer with costly action by government agencies or the courts.”
It details the use of community groups to “damage an employer’s public image and ties with community leaders and organizations.” SEIU recommends going after company officials personally. Not mincing words, SEIU states, “It may be a violation of blackmail and extortion laws to threaten management officials with release of ‘dirt’ about them if the don’t settle a contract. But there is no against union members who are angry at their employer deciding to uncover and publicize factual information about individual managers.”
The “dirt” includes charges such as “racism, sexism, exploitation of immigrants or proposals that would take money out of the community for the benefits of distant stockholders.” SEIU recommends “[l]eafleting outside meetings where [targeted managers] are speaking, their homes, or events sponsored by community organizations they are tied to are some ways to make sure their friends, neighbors, and associates are aware of the controversy.” (Source: Washington Times)
Because unions favor Obama (not necessarily the union members themselves), and drive millions of union member dues his way, the Obama Administration will do nothing to curb this. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is passing rules that will make unionization of a business easier by shortening the time between first contact of employees by the union to the time a vote can happen. The NLRB is also loosing rules that will allow unions to further intimidate owners and managers. Union leadership such as Richard Trumka (AFL/CIO President) have bragged that he’s “at the White House a couple of times a week, two, three times a week,” and that he has “conversation every day with someone at the White House or in the administration.”
Until there is an administration that is not beholden to the union leadership, this kind of tactic will continue.

Union Thug "Attacks" Union Members
Union representative goes off on the employees he represents. Maryland prison guard say that Steve Berger, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union rep went off on a profanity laced tirade at some of the employees when he was asked where some of the union dues money went during the campaign seasons. He even challenged one guard a fight and called one of the employees a “Republican”, which I guess in the union leadership mind is a dirty word.
The prison guards sent copies of the complaint to Republican Rep Chris Shank who in turn asked Public Safety and Correctional Services Secretary Gary Maynard to look into the matter.
I guess these union reps are feeling the heat right now as state governments look for ways to balance out of whack budgets. But to take your frustrations on the folks you represent is crossing a line. Last night Glenn Back made it a point to speak to union members to start standing up for what they believed (Remember the source, Media Matters, when reading the comments at the link), and these AFSCME members apparently feel that Berger crossed a line.

Wisconsin Union Thugs at it Again
Unions activist are not unknown for their gutter behavior, but this looks to be beyond the pale for even union thugs (known as teachers in Wisconsin). It seems they are threatening business owners, who have no stake whatsoever in the collective bargaining issues, with less business unless they kowtow to their demands. Read the full account here at Townhall. (Original link at Neal Boortz)

New Site on Lefty Civility
You must go to this site to get an idea of how the unions and their leftist supporters are trying to intimidate those that are opposed to their ideals. “Left-Wing Institute for Civil Discourse” is said with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
I am going to put it on my favorite sites so you can check it regularly.
