Some Thoughts on 6 Jan

First things first. I am thoroughly disgusted with what happened at the Capitol building on 6 January. I do not in any way support the actions of a small minority. It was something that should have never happened. The actions of all parties disappoints me more than my words can express. It is a sad coda to the end of a presidency that, given time and distance, history might have judged in a positive light. History and reflection have a tendency to dampen whatever strong feelings (positive and negative) may have existed at the end of any President's time in office. Because of the terrible events at the Capitol building, that wont happen. Trump will be forever judged, rightly or wrongly, by what occurred.

That being said, I am also disgusted, though completely unsurprised, at the level of hypocrisy emanating from many these posts. Not a single one of you called out progressives for inciting violence over the past four years. I don't recall when Aaron Danielson was gunned down in cold blood in Portland last September by antifa supporter any of you condemning the shooter. Where were your howls of indignation when David Dorn, a retired St. Louis police captain, was shot and killed execution style while responding to an alarm in a downtown pawn shop?

As a reminder, just in case you forgot, here is a sampling of progressives/democrats calling for violence against those they oppose politically. If you did call out these instances when they happened, please refresh my memory.

"I don't know why there aren't uprisings all over the country. There should be." - Nancy Pelosi (D), Speaker of the House and collector of extremely expensive ice cream

"Protesters should not let up." - Kamela Harris (D), future Vice President of the USA and close "friend" of Willy Brown. She spoke this at the absolute height of the rioting that was destroying our inner cities. She also vigorously encouraged people to donate money to a fund that was used to bail out people who were arrested for committing acts of vandalism and violence.

"You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about. That's why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the White House and or the Senate, that's win civility can start again." Hillary Clinton former Sec State, and destroyer of hard drives

"Go to the Hill today. Please, get up in the face of some congresspeople." Cory Booker (D) Senator from New Jersey.

"...and if there is some collateral damage for some others who don't share our view, well, so be it,..." Pelosi again

"Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House." - Madonna, washed up singer

"When was the last time an actor assassinated a president? I want to clarify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living. However, it has been a while and maybe it is time." Johnny Depp, accused woman beater.

"If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere". - Maxine Waters (D), Congresswoman from California and all around nutjob.

"New details today on the incident that left Senator Rand Paul with six broken ribs - this might be one of my favorite stories." - Kaisie Hunt.

"If you're going to shoot him, you have to shoot to kill." Harvard Law Professor when referring to dems going after Trump.

"When they (Republicans) go low, we kick them." Eric "wingman" Holder, quoting Michelle Obama.

"Who are Mitch McConnell's neighbors? I'm just saying Rand Paul's neighbor did what a true Kentucky hero should do. It's your turn to step up." - Rodney Robinson, 2019 teacher of the year

"That Scott down there that's running for governor of Florida. Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him up against the wall and shoot him." Paul Kanjorski (D-PA)

This is only a small sampling.
