Occupy and Tea Party Align

File this under “eventually we can all agree on something”. Recently I posted about how the Mayor of Richmond, VA has initiated an audit process against the Richmond Tea Party. What triggered the Mayor’s ire was an invoice sent to the city requesting that funds the Tea Party group used to pay for toilets and trash collection be reimbursed. The Tea Party figured that since the Occupy Richmond group got all of these services for free, why shouldn’t the Tea Party.

Now it seems that all of the stars and planets have aligned, if only for a brief moment. The Occupy Richmond group has released a statement in support of the Richmond Tea Party:

After the city accused the Richmond Tea Party of being overdue on tax filings, Occupy Richmond issued a statement saying “it would not surprise us” if the move was “retaliation” for the Tae Party’s criticism of Mayor Dwight Jones. […] “The Tea Party and Occupy movements disagree on many, many issues,” Occupy Richmond’s Thursday statement said. “This should not stop all Americans from proudly standing together against government abuses.” (Source: Big Government) (Emphasis BG’s)

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when word of this reached the Major’s office. Using a term that my younger teenaged son might use, I’m sure the dude had a cow. “Those ungrateful ingrates. I paid for their toilets (didn’t want them pooping on my cop cars), I gave them trash collection, I gave them a place to set up their tents, I even offered them showers. And this is how they repay me!? Anybody got any pepper spray?”

Mayor Threatens Tea Party

This is what you get when you stand up to the leftists and their Occupy movement:

Two weeks after the Richmond Tea Party delivered an invoice to Richmond (VA) Mayor Dwight Jones for cost incurred for previous rallies, we received a letter from the City of Richmond formally stating that the city is auditing our Tea Party. Coincidence? This audit is an obvious attempt to intimidate and harass us for standing up against the unfair treatment and discrimination against our Tea Party. Source: (Big Government)

Apparently, the City of Richmond has allowed the Occupy movement folks to use their park facilities at no charge, providing the protesters with free portable toilets and trash pickup. When the Tea Party hosted rallies their earlier this year, they paid for the permits, purchased their own sanitation services, and filed all paperwork properly.

The blog Virginia Right reported that the city provided services such as portable toilets, trash pickup, etc. The incomplete invoices obtained from the city total $7,000. This was only a portion of the actual costs to taxpayers because the costs of police, helicopter and incarceration were not included. Also not accounted for was the 24-hour police protection of the Mayor’s home after the Occupiers moved their camp next door to the Mayor’s house. The Richmond Tea Party, conversely, paid for all services for our rallies, including the police, portable toilets, park fees and permits, amounting to approximately $8,500. Please note the one glaring difference between the costs incurred by the Occupy movement vs. the Tea Party. There were no incarcerations for the Tea Party folks.

Did Tea Party Cheer for Death?

If it turns out that Tea Party members cheered during the debate last night, I really might have to rethink my support. I am going to wait to see if maybe there was a plant in the audience like has occurred in other instances.

We need to enusre that we keep the upper hand when it comes to civility. The left's utter lack of civility is well chronicled here and elsewhere.

As expected, the left is beside themselves with gleeful comdenation. The comments section is absolute must read..

Union Goons at Their Finest

You have to wonder how long it will be before a union thug actually kills someone. This was a case of luck. Twelve inches down or to the right and this doesn’t get interviewed.

Someone form the pro union side might ask why don’t I ask the same question regarding the folks on the rights. Well, I guess what you’ll have to do is point out to me some ACTUAL cases of violence from right. There is plenty of talk about how violent and racist the Tea Party is, but there are no actual provable cases.

You are always hearing from the left about how the right is violent and that we use heated rhetoric. The last I saw, nobody from the Tea Party has been actually accused of beating someone who didn’t agree with a Tea Party stance. I have never heard of people who were not union shooting at the owners of a union-run shop. Have you ever heard about people from the Tea Party threatening a school superintendent as he tries to save the school district money? You never hear about a conservative politician saying “you’re f------g dead” to a member of the opposition. Somebody needs to point out to me the last time a Republican politician called for blood in the streets.

Now we have graduated from threats of deadly violence to an actual attempt on someone’s life. At what point in time will President Obama step in and tell his supporters that enough is enough? Mr. Obama, does somebody actually have to die for you to say something to your supporters about the hateful rhetoric they spew? What is it going to take for you to show some leadership and take those people to the woodshed for the ass-chewing they deserve?

As Usual, Dems Blame Someone Else

Someday, in the future, President Obama and his staff will actually take responsibility for their own actions and their own failures. From the very first day of his presidency he has sought to blame all that ails on someone else. Occasionally, he has been at least partially correct. The economic collapse did occur on George Bush’s watch. While the foundation of the trouble (housing crash) can be rightfully tied to democrat policies under Clinton, Bush had his chances to fix Fannie and Freddie. But after a year or so, the economic troubles belong to the current administration, no matter how much he tries to paint this otherwise. Obama and his spending policies have sent our national debt into the stratosphere.

Now his staff and his main stream media sycophants are attempting to place the blame for the S&P downgrade on the Tea Party. Never mind that the Tea Party and the representatives they sent to Congress tried to get a balanced budget amendment passed and also championed deeper cuts. The lack of both of these was cited by S&P officials as reasons why the downgrade occurred.

The Leftist Narrative Continues

During all of the discourse over the past few years, one thing has been consistent. The constant attack mode of the left towards anything remotely conservative.

The reason for attacks? The left has no possibility of winning the argument on the basis of logic and facts. So they follow Saul Alinsky’s advice from his book Rules for Radicals and attack the messenger. This is old news to you and I. All we can do is keep on keepin’ on. Articulate the message clearly and eventually it will get through to most.

The evidence of our reaching the masses through our persistence is very clear. We got the message out on Obama care. Although it passed and was signed into law, a very large majority did not support the law. And several Representatives and a few Senators paid the price. We got the message out over the budget issues. Many didn’t listen and in 2012 there will be a few more Congress-critters and hopefully a president who will be joining the ranks of the unemployed.

Through all of this, the left continues to fire at us with both barrels. The first started to call us nothing more than an Astroturf movement (note 1). When that didn’t work, next came the calls that we were violent (note 2) and racist (note 3). When that proved to be nothing more than spitting into the wind, they started to call us terrorists (note 4). All this does is to make us stand stronger. As an added benefit, people have been looking in to what we do and they are finding that we are neither racist, nor are we violent, and we are certainly not terrorists. (See Notes below)

The other day a friend of mine sent me an e-mail that was supposedly written by a Professor of history named David Kaiser. I thought about posting the e-mail on my blog as it was really interesting to read. However, I tend to try and accomplish due-diligence whenever I see something attributed to “whomever”.

BTW: if you send me stuff, I will use it. But be careful, I do research what I receive.

After doing some very basic Yahooing, I found Professor Kaiser. He has a blog titled “History Unfolding”. Almost from the get-go, I realized this guy could not have written the contents of what was contained in the e-mail. The contents of the email where very much against Obama, but Kaiser’s blog content when comparing it to the email was, in his own words “…are in many ways the opposite of my own.” (Source: Snopes) In other words, there is no way Kaiser could have written the email. He is too far left.

Did a Tea Party Candidate Cost a Republican a House Seat?

When all is said and done, the race for district 26 in New York really has little impact on the overall balance in Congress. Where the impact lies is with how the democrats might have played a little fast and loose with the rules. In the special election in district 26 there are three candidates, Jane Corwin (R), Kathy Hochul (D), and Jack Davis (Supposed Tea Party candidate). Actually, Davis is a former democrat whose campaign manager had this to say about Tea Partiers:

“The (Tea Parties) are essentially replaying the ‘60s protest paradigm (We’re aging baby boomers ourselves, so we know it when we see it). They fancy themselves the vanguard of a revolution, when in fact they are typical self-absorbed, privileged children used to have their way – now – and uninhibited about complaining loudly when they don’t.  it’s the same demographic Spior Agnew called “an effete corps of impudent snobs who characterize themselves as intellectuals.” (Source: Red State)

Tea Party Tax Day Protests

Gang, sorry about the slow blogging the last few days.  I started a new job and things have been a little hectic around here. Plus I have been doing some logistical planning for opening day coming up next weekend.

I did receive a few links over the week end that I should have posted already. Donald at American Power Blog has a great post about the tax protest rallies in Southern California over the weekend.  Of course there are pictures too. Lots of ‘em!  Looks like those doggone tea partiers are at it again. Both tax day protests were covered fairly heavily by the local media and lo-and-behold they couldn’t find any evidence of those violent, racist tea party members. I wonder if there was any disappointment in the newsrooms?

Meanwhile, a little further up the coast in Portland, OR, folks protesting against the tea party resorted to their usual vile tactics. Sister Toldjah has the story and the links. I am so glad that I never became a progressive; I don’t think I could live with myself if I had to comport myself this way.

City Council Bans Protest Signs

The link off of Drudge Report and the headline of the article was a tad misleading, but it did get to the heart of the matter. Coldwater City, MI has banned any type of banner or sign in their parks and other recreation areas. The Tea Party protests were likely the impetus behind the ban as the Coldwater City council decided the Tea Party banners were “too political” and “too controversial”.

The Thomas Moore Law Center has filed suit against this ban, saying “the ban of all signs and banners is too broad.”

It occurs to me that groups like the KKK and Neo-Nazi can have parades and rallies and the Westboro Baptist Church can hold up vile signs at military funerals and have their freedom of speech protected. But the Tea Party, those dudes are way over the line so they need to be banned, but to protect ourselves, we’ll ban everyone. (sarc/off)

Using Leftist Tactics?

While there have been times where I feel like doing the same thing, I don’t think this is a good idea.  Conservatives are better than this.  I think the person who original posted this either had second thoughts or enough people told him to back off because his original post has been taken down.

It is very frustrating that the left continues to control to dialogue based on their in-your-face tactics.  For Conservative to repeat these actions would backfire on us for certain.  The press, which as we all know has a decidedly leftist bent, would side with the left on any issues.  Do some of you remember the leftist trolls who infiltrated a few Tea Party events as the movement was starting to gain traction? Barely a peep from the MSM. What do you think would happen if a conservative tried to do the same thing at a progressive event? If you answered the MSM would go nuts, the NY Times would make the story Page 2, Paul Krugman would be beside himself condemning the right for these actions, and the Huffington Post would do up a whole story about how these tactics have been used by the right since Teddy Roosevelt.

Gas Guzzler Tax

WA State resident may have to pay higher licensing fees if they own what is deemed as a “gas guzzler”. State legislators are floating ideas that could possibly increase the price drivers pay at the pump, or to register a vehicle, especially if that vehicle is larger. The extra taxes would go to support already heavily subsidized mass transit in King and Pierce counties.

The Civility Continues

Media Matters is running a story (found at Confederate Yankee) of the tragic shooting of a nine year old girl in Pima County, Arizona and trying to link it to the Tea Party without any evidence to support their conclusions.

But it is not 9-year old Christina Green who is being written about, who was shot by Jared Loughner in Tucson earlier this month. It is 9-year old Brisenia Flores who was allegedly shot and killed in May of 2009 by Shawna Forde during a robbery attempt to supposedly help fund a group called Minutemen American Defense.

The Media Matters story makes an attempt to link Forde to the Tea Party.
