Divide Contunes to Deepen

It seems that the politicalization of America keeps getting deeper and deeper.

Recently, a gun manufacturer in Arizona was basically told that their business was no longer welcome because they were, well, a gun manufacturer.

This country is divided and continues to become more and more divided. I place this widening gap at the feet of progressives and democrats. They have done everything in their power to divide this nation into groups. Gays vs. straight, men vs. women, gun owners vs. those opposed to gun ownership, black vs. white.

Liberal Civility Rises Again

For most of my politically active life I have always been pounded by the democrats, progressives, and the main stream media that conservatives and Republicans are heartless and cruel, not caring one iota for the “little people.” According to the democrats, they were the only party for those who were oppressed by “the man.” They and they alone are the party of the little people, the working class, the down-trodden.

But how can this be so when there are so many examples of just how heartless and out of touch they truly are?

The primary example of this supposed culture of caring is how they court and keep the black vote. The word racist has been used so many times in recent years that it has come to the point where the word has almost no meaning. Plus, while I am sure most in the democrat party are very much aware of their own party’s racist past (Civil Right legislation opposition, several key democrats were KKK members), the main stream media has thus far refused to report on this racist past. They have even gone as far as to lend their (MSM’s) incredible reach to further the fallacy that conservatives are the racists.

California Court Decision Overturned

Last week I blogged about how a California Appeals Court was going to force the military to immediately end the Clinton-era Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) policy and to implement the law that allows gays to serve openly. This appeals court is notoriously liberal, continuously rendering decisions that fall to the left of the political debate. As is normal for a liberal institution, they don’t bother to account for how the decision will impact the vast majority or even the impact on those they are supposedly favoring.

Oddly enough the Obama Administration does understand. Obama and his group have actually sided with the military and with reason with respect to orderly ending DADT and execution of the new law. For now, the DADT policy is back in effect until the military can get the training/indoctrination completed and certify the repeal of DADT.

The other day a friend of mine sent me an e-mail that was supposedly written by a Professor of history named David Kaiser. I thought about posting the e-mail on my blog as it was really interesting to read. However, I tend to try and accomplish due-diligence whenever I see something attributed to “whomever”.

BTW: if you send me stuff, I will use it. But be careful, I do research what I receive.

After doing some very basic Yahooing, I found Professor Kaiser. He has a blog titled “History Unfolding”. Almost from the get-go, I realized this guy could not have written the contents of what was contained in the e-mail. The contents of the email where very much against Obama, but Kaiser’s blog content when comparing it to the email was, in his own words “…are in many ways the opposite of my own.” (Source: Snopes) In other words, there is no way Kaiser could have written the email. He is too far left.

Seattle To Mandate Sick Leave Policy to Private Businesses (UPDATE Below)

If I were a Seattle business owner, this proposed ordinance would have me really concerned. The Seattle City Council is considering mandating that businesses that operate in Seattle give employees a certain number of paid sick days each year.

The ordinance would require businesses to give workers in Seattle up to five, seven, or nine days of paid sick leave a year, depending on the size of the business and number of work hours accrued.

Larger businesses would have to pay more sick days than smaller businesses. Workers wouldn’t be eligible unless they’ve worked a minimum number of days. Businesses with less than 250 employees would have a year to comply, if the ordinance is passed.  Bigger businesses would have six months. (Source: Seattle PI)

Stirring Up A Hornet's Nest

Good grief, I stirred up a hornet’s nest over at Huffington Post. Earlier today I blogged about a blog post over at HuffPro and my subsequent comment. I cannot believe how much trouble I caused. By the end of the day, I had received at least 22 comments on my comment. As you might imagine, given that HuffPro leans left, most of the comments were not terribly favorable.

One commenter said that he always hears from conservatives about how the media is liberal but no one ever provides proof. So I provided it to him although the 250 word limit did cut back on how much proof I could provide to him.  Here is my response.

“So you would like a little proof? How about when Rather completely fabricated the Bush story a few years back? Or how about when Sawyer called Rand Paul a “fringe candidate” right to his face? How about ANYTHING written by the press (other than Fox) about Palin? What about the fact the over 85% of the main stream media votes democrat? Or that the editorial panel of the NY times favors liberal 10 to 1. Or the fact the main stream media won’t report the shooter at Fort Hood last year, and the dude found in front of the Pentagon two days ago were muslim. Or that NBC “forgot” part of the pledge of allegiance­. The NY Times blasting Romney for his “I’m unemployed­” remark while completely skipping Obama’s “not shovel ready” comment. Or how about when the media almost completely ignored when Maxine Waters and Maurice Hinchley called for government takeover of the US oil industry? The media has ignored the controvers­ies surroundin­g “climate-g­ate” and other instances of data fudging (or blatant lies) until the conservati­ve blogospher­e and Fox News has forced them into coverage. And let’s not forget the media would “recoil in horror” if Palin were elected.

Do I need to do more? One last point, just because you agree with the cover tilt from all the alphabet media outlets doesn’t mean they aren’t biased. I don’t believe I have said Fox News wasn’t biased, but I am at least aware they tilt to the right.”

It did not take long for him to respond back:

People report on Palin because they know stories about her get viewers, so of course they would. That is simply a smart business practice.

NY Times? I apologize, when I said MSM I was thinking of cable news. I couldn't care less what a news paper reports.

As for fort hood, i found articles on fort hood from abc, nbc, cnn, msnbc, and fox. So they obviously DID report on it, don't lie. I also found clips from coverage from those stations about fort hood on youtube. Try doing some research before making a claim.

The pledge from NBC was obviously not intentiona­l because they would not logically alienate all religious people, considerin­g they are a corporatio­n so their main priority is money. Do you always see conspiraci­es in every corner?

Is the MSM sensationa­list? Of course. Liberal? Hardly. Progressiv­e? Not even close.

Next time, try to actually explain how they are "insert adjective about left leaning ideology here".

I would like to ask if the media’s near immediate blame of Palin for the Arizona Tragedy is a good business practice. Not sure why he doesn’t care about the “newspaper of record”. What he failed to mention is that many of those stories were late in coming to the obvious conclusion the Fort Hood shooter was a muslim. NBC skipping one line in the pledge an honest mistake, not likely when you consider the source. As I pointed out to him earlier, just because you agree with their point of view doesn’t mean the point of view doesn’t lean left.

Oh boy, did I have some fun today.

Educate Thy Self

Further proof that democrats have been and are still out of touch with most Americans.  First it was the health care bill, then it was the appointment of the SCOTUS Justices who are far to the left, then it was domestic energy production.  Now it appears that a majority of Americans support a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

The one thing that continues to confuse me is how democrats continue to get elected. I know there are location across the US that a conservative politician would have an easier time selling heaters in a hot place than get elected in that particular district. San Francisco comes to mind, as does Portland, OR and some locations in New York.  But outside of these very liberal districts, why is it that democrats continue to get elected?

Liberal Hypocrisy On Display

The hypocrisy in this video from the “The Blaze” is priceless. The premise of video is for the students to give up part of their high GPA and redistribute it to students who are “not as fortunate”.

For liberals it is OK to take from someone else and give it away, but once faced with having something taken from them, not OK.  You could almost see the light flick on in a couple of ther faces. It was funny.

The Antiabortion Crowd’s Latest Target: African Americans

OK, where to get started with this one. Let’s take a look at “target”.  Isn’t this word inflammatory and will cause people to go on a shooting spree? How many times did the liberal press point out that Sarah Palin’s target map was the root of all evil? I guess it is OK for Yahoo! News to use the word target and use it a way that makes it seem like being aimed at.

Now we’ll look at “antiabortion”. When you are a liberal and want to make the pro-life folks look a little less human, you use the term antiabortion. Throw antiabortion with the word crowd and you have unruly mob or “group with nefarious intent”.

Stolen Valor Act Ruled Unconstitutional

This one is a little tough to take.  The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals has declared the 2006 Stolen Valor Act as unconstitutional based on the right of free speech guaranteed by the 1st Amendment.  I know the 1st Amendment is by design a very broad brush, put in place to protect dissenting opinions, even if the opinions are more hyperbole than substance.  But I am kind of surprised that lying is protected under the same amendment that protects political speech.

What bothers me the most is that when an individual is caught wearing a medal they did not earn and do not deserve, there is no recourse to get these individuals to stop. This takes away from the real heroes like Army Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta or Sergeant First Class Paul R. Smith.
