What a total effhead. 

Now I am well aware the idiot didn't write those speech. He didn't really have any approval over it. The extreme progressives on his staff wrote it and put it in front of him and said "do it, or else." 

Regardless who wrote the speech, the so-called President of the United States called nearly all Trump supporters un-American. While it was stupid of him to do so, it was also scary. While I know the run of the mill progressive who voted for this idiot will take his speech as nothing more than that the ravings of a lunatic, there is a sizable portion who support him and are knuckleheads. They will take these words and act on them. Soon and in the future. How soon will we see some Biden supporting a-hole make an attempt on the life of a sitting congresscritter or SCOTUS justice? Oh wait, hasn't this already happened. And this was before dumbass gave a speech that vilified more than half the country.

This information was released by the Kenosha Professional Police Association.

The officers were dispatched to the location due to a complaint that Mr. Blake was attempting to steal the caller's keys/vehicle.

Officers were aware of Mr. Blake's open warrant for felony sexual assault (3rd degree) before they arrived on scene. 

To Teach or Not to Teach

As the summer begins to wan, the start of school is starting to come into focus. Many are wondering if school is going to start and whether or not classrooms will be real or virtual. Based on what one reads and sees in the media it appears that for most locations, it will virtual. This raises the question of quality. How good will the instructions be without the backdrop of a brick and mortar schoolhouse? Does the learning environment suffer without the face to face instruction provided at school? When teaching from home, do teachers have the resources they need to fully engage their students?

I think a compromise can be reached. Have the teachers instruct from school, while the students stay at home. Outlined below are some ideas on why this should be done and ideas on how to make it work.

Some Statistics to Compare

With apologies to the Motor City Madman I am posting this in its entirety. I ran across this article by Ted Nugent a few years back and have had it sitting in my blog stuff folder so I could excerpt from it for my own post. But it says nearly everything that I wanted to say. If I could find the link I would have just posted it and had my dear readers head off that direction. But since I can’t, I’ll just repost.

There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.000000925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:

• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths

He basically takes the word “Totalitarianism” and breaks it down piece by piece to show you how Obama and his administration are functioning. I wonder if people knew this was the “change” that was referred to during his campaign if he would have won the election.

I have had this queasy feeling for quite some time about how Obama does things. Doug really does a good job of putting it together for you.

Does Obama Care Violate the 1st Amendment?

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment or religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridge the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.

In the three years that President Barack Obama has held office, he and his minions have done a great job of trampling the Constitution of the United States. He has consolidated much power in a few executive offices, bypassing and hamstringing Congress; he has given carte blanche to the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate pretty much every facet of our lives (pollutants released, vehicle MPG, light bulbs, etc.); passed a health care bill that many traditional Constitution scholars consider illegal; and has usurped immigration policy with little to no consent of Congress.

Up to this point, he and his gang of left-wing ideologues have pretty much left religion alone. Some of the more far-left have nibbled at the edges (Gay Marriage), but basic freedoms have been left untouched.

No longer is this the case.

Freedom Ticking Away

With all of his czars and power given to his cabinet, President Obama is more like a dictator every day. He has rendered Congress nearly useless. Now, it looks like Congress is complicate in Obama’s efforts. The Congressional Black Caucus has urged Obama to invoke the 14th Amendment to raise the debt ceiling without congressional approval.

Of course, this won’t be reported in the media, or if it is, it will be to support these efforts.

The longer this guy stays in office, the more freedom is eroded.

Just Throw Out That Pesky 4th Amendment

As has been mentioned on this site many times before, we are experiencing a slow erosion of our rights.  Just last week the Indiana Supreme Court basically deemed the 4th Amendment null and void.  Doug Powers has the full story over at Michelle Malkin’s blog.  I am willing to bet this decision will eventually be overturned by a higher court, but just the fact that there are people who are in positions such as a State Supreme Court Justice view the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as impediments to government actions rather than protections from government actions is just plain scary to me. But I guess it is to be expected when you consider who currently resides in the White House.

Slow Erosion of Our Rights

Over the course of the past many years I have come to despise the term “For your own good” or the alternative “for the collective good”. Yesterday, Patrice Lewis of Rural Revolution wrote a column for World Net Daily (as she does every weekend) titled “Serfdom: Coming soon to a country near you”. In her column she highlights how the people of England have slowly had their rights whittled away by a government who thinks they know better (let me rephrase that: by a government who knows they know better).  As she gets deeper into the column she laments how the pinching of rights here in this country could be precursor of things to come. While she doesn’t come right out and say it, I firmly believe many of the restrictions and laws set into place in England and here fall under the banner of “for your own good”.

English history is very long and lustrous. At one time they were the rulers of a very large portion of the known world. India, chunks of China, a large swath of Southwest Asia, Africa, and of course, North America north of the Rio Grande. If one is willing to read about the history of the time they had possession of all these colonies you will see there is a very strong undercurrent of “We need to rule you because we know better”. During the time of the Empire the ruling party was the monarchy, a very select group of people descended from royalty, a very small group of ruling elite.  As the 20th century came to pass and the Empire began to pass, England moved away from the Royals as the ruling class and became a democracy of sorts. One thing did not change though. These people were still part of a small group of elites, educated at places like Oxford and Cambridge. Another thing they had in common with the royals was the very distinct feeling of being much smarter than the general population at large. This new class of elected ruling elite very much felt the masses needed their well-educated guidance to show them the proper way forward. So even though the leadership of the nation had passed from the Royals to the elected officials the mantra of “We need to rule you because we know better” did not change.

Is TSA Out of Control?

This is what happens when you let the inmates run the asylum.  For far too long we have allowed our government do what they wanted with little interference from the population other than an occasional turnover of personnel after an election cycle.

Last week, it was little blonde-headed girl who was touched in a way that would get most people arrested. This week it was a freaking former Miss USA. We have already heard about the woman who was forced to remove her prosthetic breast. They have been known to fondle old people in wheelchairs.

I have a question for you. If all of these very personal pat-downs are occurring, why have we not heard one complaint from the Muslim community?  Could it be they are taking their pat-downs in silence? Are Muslim women, especially those who are single, remaining silent about being touched by strangers in places that would be considered fore-play in more intimate situations? I do find it very strange that Muslims have not be coming forward to complain about the treatment like many other Americans have done in recent months. I have little doubt that if a Muslim decided to complain about the TSA pat-downs, the liberal press would be all over it.  Hmm, on second thought, if there is one thing the liberal press likes more than Muslims complaining about how terrible America is, it would be justifying liberty-stripping policies of the current administration.

Chicago Schools Oversteps

I have a question for the Chicago Public School District. Just who the heck do you think you are? Who are you to tell students and parents they can no longer bring sack lunches to school because you think they aren’t healthy enough? When will you idiots remember who pay your salary? We don’t do you bidding, you do ours. I guess this more than just “a question”.

In the idiotic move of the week (day?), the Chicago Public Schools has banned students from bringing most home packed lunches.  At one school, Claremont Academy Elementary, the school officials confiscate any snacks loaded with sugar or salt. I’ll repeat my question; who the heck do these people think they are? This is elitism at it most notorious. These people think because they have some fancy education centered diploma they are smarter than the parents and it their duty to do what is “for their own good”. Man, how I hate that statement.

City Council Bans Protest Signs

The link off of Drudge Report and the headline of the article was a tad misleading, but it did get to the heart of the matter. Coldwater City, MI has banned any type of banner or sign in their parks and other recreation areas. The Tea Party protests were likely the impetus behind the ban as the Coldwater City council decided the Tea Party banners were “too political” and “too controversial”.

The Thomas Moore Law Center has filed suit against this ban, saying “the ban of all signs and banners is too broad.”

It occurs to me that groups like the KKK and Neo-Nazi can have parades and rallies and the Westboro Baptist Church can hold up vile signs at military funerals and have their freedom of speech protected. But the Tea Party, those dudes are way over the line so they need to be banned, but to protect ourselves, we’ll ban everyone. (sarc/off)

The Left's Plans Continue to be Exposed (Long Post)

The one thing that is not scary about what the left has planned for us is that we now have the ability to see it and do something about it before they can put their processes in motion or at the very least intercept them before conclusion.

Most recently Steve Learner was giving a speech at a symposium hosted at Pace College and he talked about what can be done to destabilize the banking system in particular and the free market economy in general. (Transcript here, thanks Legal Insurrection)

Their home is under water, they are paying more for it than it’s worth.  Ten percent of those people are now in strategic default, meaning they’re refusing to pay but they’re staying in their homes.  That is totally spontaneous.  Right? They figure out it takes a year to kick me out of my home because the mort, the foreclosure’s backed up. I’m going to say I won’t pay. It’s just what business does, it’s a good business decision. If you could double that number, you would make banks, put the banks on the edge of insolvency again.”

“And so the question would be, what would happen if we organized homeowners in mass to do a mortgage strike. Just say if we get, and , and, if we get half a million people to agree, we’ll all not, we’ll agree we won’t pay our mortgages, it would literally cause a new financial crisis.”

Obama and Gun Rights, the Evidence is not so Good

On Glenn Beck tonight he discussed the Obama Administrations plans for gun control over the next couple of years. During the discussion he put up a quote regarding how to best get more gun control. The quote discussed better background checks and mental health issues.  The one thing that caught my eye was the statement (paraphrased) efforts should also focus on those who have no need to legitimately own a gun. That caused me to sit back for a moment. Once you eliminate the felons and criminals, and the mentally ill folks from owning and possessing guns what else is there? Who are the folks who have no need to legitimately own a gun?

Well, based on how he and some of his cabinet members and other advisors feel about guns and their desire to either highly control them or eliminate them altogether I fear those who have no legitimate need for guns would be the rest of us, at least in their minds. If they get the opportunity to change the laws, we will the ones who don't have a legitimate reason to own a gun. Obama has, in the past, stated he supports bans on right to carry for everyone except police officers.

SCOTUS Rules in Favor for Westboro

“I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death you right to say it”

Don’t know who this quote belongs to but events at the SCOTUS today pretty much sums it up.  The Westboro Baptist Church has a right to say what they want and where they want, despite it being as vile as one can imagine.  In what might be a considered a rare event in an ideologically divided SCOTUS, they voted 8-1 in favor of the church. Alito was the only dissenting justice.

Most of you already know the Westboro Baptist Church is infamous for protesting at the funnels of our soldiers killed in battle. They say vile things such as their death are because God hates gays and America supports gays. According to the SCOTUS this falls under the banner of free speech, protected by the First Amendment.

Israel and the Left (Part 2, Media Edition)

It is really interesting when you sit down and think about the alliance between the far left and the Muslim Brotherhood.  The far left has made it clear that they support Palestine and Muslim desires in the Middle East over Israel’s right to exist.  Here are several examples; (Thanks Legal Insurrection)

Glenn Greenwald over at Salon goes on and on about how the IDF ruthlessly attacked and killed several defenseless humanitarian aid workers.

“Late last night, Israel attacked a flotilla of ships in international waters carrying food, medicine, and other aid to Gaza, killing at least 10 civilians on board and injuring at least 30 more (many reports not put the number at 19 dead and 60 injured). The Israeli Defense for is claiming its soldiers were attacked with clubs, knives and ‘handguns’ when they boarded the ship without permission.” (emphasis added)

If you have the time, you must read the first few pages of the comments sections. I never realized how many of the left truly hated Israel and wish for its demise.  It was quite stunning to read.

Personally, I am not a gun owner myself, but that is NOT because I am opposed to gun ownership or the right to carry a gun. It is just a choice that I have made for the moment. I have given considerable thought to changing this fact; I only have to select the gun I’d like to carry. I am trained since I spent 27 years in the military, having fired a Beretta M9 more times than I can count, so that won’t be an issue.
