I have blogged over the past several months about how law enforcement has been responding to protests that are not related to antifa and so-forth. It hasn't been pretty.
As I have often pointed out, traditionally folks that tend to be in the middle (so-called Independents) or to the right (Conservatives) have always supported "The Blue". In our eyes the men and women in blue represent law and order. We like law and order. We also like freedom.
What is going on over in the Netherlands is yet another example where LEOs have decided to support a tyrannical government. Yesterday, they actually shot at a person driving a tractor around a roadblock. Note that I said AROUND. Not over. Not through.
While I have no knowledge of how much protection there is for free speech in the Netherlands, I think it is safe to say the protections aren't nearly as robust as ours. Nonetheless, shooting at unarmed civilians who are smarter than you probably isn't going to win you any friends.
If you are in law enforcement and are reading this understand one thing. If you decide to support tyrannical government actions such as:
- Using jackboot methods to shut down peaceful protest such as what happened in Canada over the winter.
- Firing live rounds at protesters that are unarmed.
- NOT make any effort whatsoever to protect life and property and making no arrests during the antifa driven protests.
- Hunting down your fellow Australians just because they didn't want to take the shot.
You will find yourself with very few friends. I know that you are smart enough to know that progressives and the elites who support and encourage violent protests and the violent suppression of protests that are counter to the "narrative" are not your friends. They will discard you at a moment's notice. For those of us who do support you, if you decide that you are willing to be a brown shirt for these tyrants, you will lose are support. You will be left on a self-imposed island.
I have friends that as little as six months ago were big time supports of LEO. Not anymore. They s aw what your brothers and sisters did in Germany, Australia, Canada, here in the USA, and now in the Netherlands. Are you going to join them, or will you stand on your principles?
Some LEOs have already made a stand. In my home state, the tyrannical governor mandated all state employees get the shot or lose their jobs. Several state patrol officers decided they didn't want the shot and they resigned. It has had a significant impact. On my route home is a weigh station. This has traditionally been a robust location. Over the last dozen years or so, this weigh station was closed a couple of times a year, generally Christmas and Thanksgiving. This is not the case now. It is open maybe 60% of the time (I don't have any data other than my nearly daily observations). This station is just across the border. Another weigh station further along is hardly ever open now. Several counties in more rural parts of the state have had to curtail operations due to lose of patrol officers. In some locations it was more than 50%.
I make the above point to let you know there are officers out there that don't like tyranny a decided they took a stand.
