Stupid Climate Change People

During this recent cold snap that has much of the nation grabbing for an extra blanket, Canada has one upped the USA in stupidity. As most of you probably know, when it gets cold here, it is often times even colder in parts of Canada.

Due to stupid choices made by tyrannical governments, the folks of Canada are going to experience some dangerous conditions over the next few days. Coal fired plants have been shut down, gas powered are not keeping up with demand, and so-called renewable are rendered almost useless by the extreme cold temperatures. 

So the government of Alberta has asked the the good folks there to suffer at the alter of climate change.

Here is an emergency alert issued in the province of Alberta:

"This is an Alberta Emergency Alert issued be the AEMA. This alert is in effect for AB. Extreme cold resulting in high power demand has placed the Alberta grid at high risk of rotating power outages this evening. Albertans are ask to immediately limit their electricity use to essential needs only. Turn off unnecessary lights and electrical appliances. Minimize the use of space heaters. Delay use of major power appliances. Delay charging electric vehicles and plugging in block heaters. Cook with microwave instead of the stove. For more information..." Emphasis mine.

During the early part of my career I was stationed in Montana. Winters there can be absolutely brutal. Temps below zero were not uncommon. -63° occurred while is was there. One of the first things I did when I arrived was install a block heater in my truck. My sponsor insisted that I do so. His advice was wise. I knew a couple dudes who didn't and they paid the price with cracked blocks due to the extreme cold. I wonder how many Albertans are going to follow the advisory and how many are going to have to deal with expensive engine replacement.

One other "request" in the bulletin was to not charge electric vehicles. This is common refrain whenever power generation becomes tough. Whether it is extreme heat or cold, this has become much too common. All the greenies claim that moving to electric vehicles will save the planet. Who is going to save the people from the greenies? As we are forced to transition to electric vehicles at the same time the greenies are shutting down reliable power generation, people are going to suffer. Some will die. We are being forced to make a choice between generating power for electric vehicles or heating and cooling our homes and businesses. No matter how much unicorn dust and fairy farts the greenies inhale, there is not enough power infrastructure to do both, especially if they keep shutting down coal and gas fired plants.

Greenies and the whole climate change crowd are purposely pushing towards a dystopian world with the decisions they are attempting to force upon us. Unless we begin to push back, and hard, we are going to suffer. If this continues, the divisions between the haves and have not will only continue to deepen. And here is the funny part, many of those who will wind up the have not side, think the will wind up on the "winning" side rather than the have nots along with the rest of us.
