Most of you already know that I am somewhat suspicious of law enforcement. Support the Blue is a movement on the right that maybe we should hold at arms length. In my opinion, there have been too many incidents involving law enforcement and folks on the right. I have provided numerous examples in previous posts. Here and Here and Here
The day prior and the day of his "stop the steal" speech President Trump stated that those in attendance needed to remain peaceful and the Capitol Police were on our side. As the events of Jan 6th become a little more distant, that narrative has begun to change. It has become obvious from the videos that has been released, the Capitol Hill Police, along with the FBI, were front and center in instigating the events that occurred that afternoon.
Now we have the following incident. From the video at this link, it is blatantly obvious the officer initiated contact with the reporter. This was a set up from the moment the reporter started to interview the politician. Why were there at least five law enforcement "officers" in such close proximity? This police officer must be quite the wimp. Watching the video, you can see the contact was firm, but it certainly doesn't fall into the category of assault. It certainly wasn't on purpose, which what is usually required for the crime of assault to be enforced. Watching the video, it sure seems to me this was a set up from the word go. The "officer" made no attempt to move out of the way of a person walking down the street. This "officer" knew the reporter was going to walk into him and did absolutely nothing to avoid the contact.
A couple of moments stand out for me. The first is why didn't Dep PM Freeland say anything to the "officer"? Aren't "liberal" politicians supposed to be against police brutality and so forth? The other thing that caught my eye was the possible smirk from the aide walking with Freeland. It is possible that I am seeing what I want to see, but when I look closely at the video it seems the aide smirks ever so slightly in the last frame or two. I will be the first to admit bias might be playing with my mind a bit. This video is from Canada, where the local and national police have already chosen which side they are on. The have chosen fascism.
Going forward, as conservatives, we need to be very careful. If you live in a blue state, especially anywhere near the larger cities, extra vigilance is going to be necessary when dealing with law enforcement. If you live in a red state, I still wouldn't let my guard down. It is clear that several law enforcement agencies have made their choice. The FBI is no longer a non-political organization.
