Something to Think About

A friend of mine sent me this. As he said in his email this should be required reading for everyone as the elections approach at the end of this year. This was in response to President Obama threats during the debt ceiling and budget crisis that went on this past November.

Did you notice who President Obama threatened when he wasn’t getting his way on raising the debt ceiling?

He threatened to not pay: Social Security Retirees, Military retirees, Social Security disability and Federal Retirees.

Now… Let this sink in really good:

He did not threaten to stop payments to illegal aliens.

He did not threaten to take frivolous benefits such as internet access away from violent inmates.

He did not offer to fire some of the thousands of unnecessary federal employees that he hired.

He did offer to cut down on his or his wife’s frivolous gallivanting around.

He did not threaten to not pay the senators and representatives or any of their staff.

He did not threaten to take benefits away from welfare recipients.

He did not threaten to not pay foreign aid.

He did not threaten to cut back on anything that involves his base voters!!!

PACNW Righty adds: While not each of these items on the above list are necessarily Obama supporters, it certainly does give a look into the mind of our president. This president and his family have traveled more for pleasure than any previous president in several terms. On top of this, Obama has in three years golfed more than President Bush did in nearly his entire four years. The liberal media thrashed Bush for his time on the links, but nary a disparaging word has come from the same media about how often Obama tees it up.

The first three items on this list really do chap my hide. Any benefit for illegal immigrants should be done away with almost immediately, regardless of the state of the economy. But here we are, mired in one of the worst economic downturns in 70 years and we are still giving taxpayer money to people who shouldn’t even be here.

As for the inmates receiving internet access, this is something that needs to be severely curtailed. There are numerous reports that inmates are using the access to view websites that shouldn’t be available to them such as porno-sites and hate sites. Plus, I have heard there have been cases where inmates have threatened witnesses via email and other means through the internet.

Most of you are aware of the statistics. During the worst of the recession, while the private sector was shedding jobs by the millions, the federal government, under Obama’s direction, added hundreds of thousands of high-paying public-sector jobs. All the better to staff his dream of a nanny state.

Hopefully we will be able to put all of this behind us in 2012.
