Now for some good news. Unemployment actually ticked downward last month as the economy created over 117,000 jobs, which reduced the unemployment rate to 9.1%. This number is still a far cry from the 8% President Obama promised we wouldn’t cross if Stimulus Bill was passed.
We still have a long way to go. During the recession, the US lost over 8.7 million jobs, of which only 1.9 million have been recovered.
The one thing I’d like to see is a report on the under-employed. While I know a lot of people who have jobs, they are most certainly not making what they were before the recession hit. Not only does the unemployment problem need to be solved, so does the under-employment issues
