The Military and Terrorism

Here is a couple of disturbing links regarding the military and terrorism.

-- In the grand tradition of mollifying terrorists in the hopeless hope they will like us; the Obama White House has categorized the Fort Hood massacre that killed 14 people and carried out by an Islamist as “workplace violence.” This little bit of word play is no different than the term “man-caused disasters” and changing Global War on Terrorism to Overseas Contingency Operations. Gee, those phrases have worked so well in gaining us likability in the region; why not go for strike three.

If you want to get a feeling of just how bad this makes the folks in the White House look, Susan Collins, A republican Senator from Maine was upset. Collins, not known for her conservative ways, blasted the White House:

Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood Massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation’s Armed Forces at home.

During a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, the Maine Republican referenced a letter from the Defense Department depicting the Fort Hood shootings as workplace violence. She criticized the Obama administration for failing to identify the threat as radical Islam. (Source: Fox News)

-- It appears the US military is in danger of being infiltrated by Islamic terrorist. To me, this really doesn’t come as a surprise. There is no way these bozos can attack us from the front, they know they would be wiped out in an instant. But worm there way into the fabric of one of American’s greatest institutions is a certain way to achieve a goal. And the easiest part for them is that the military will make sure it happens. Political correctness is a rampant disease within the military, with the leadership bending over backwards to make everyone like them. Very rarely did I ever hear the term Islamic terrorist uttered during briefings. The term al Qaeda was used frequently, but never was it tied directly to Islam. The PC bug is going to be the military’s undoing.

Asked repeatedly by Rep Daniel E. Lungren, California Republican, about his refusal to use the word “Islamic” or “Islamist” when describing al Qaeda, Mr. (Daniel) Stockton (assistant secretary of defense for homeland security) said branding terrorists as Muslims plays into their narrative that the United States is at war with Islam.

“Sir, with great respect, I don’t believe it’s helpful to frame our adversary as ‘Islamic’ with set of qualifiers that we might add, because we are not at war with Islam,” he said. (Source: Washington Times)

These are the kinds of people that are going to get many military members and their families killed in the very spot they should feel safest: on their own base. When Neville Chamberlin claimed “Peace in our time” he had his head buried up his backside, just like many in the Obama Administration.

Kind of makes you wonder if these folks even have a clue about what is going on in the world. In recent years, I cannot come up with more than just a small handful of anyone outside the influence of Islam that have carried out an attacked against us. Some will remind me of the Oklahoma bombings and the Tucson shooting, but those are rare when compared to the number of attacks both at home and worldwide that have ties to Islam. I think statisticians would call it statistically insignificant.

Side note here: A US military institution is actually one of the more vulnerable places on in the US. Here is the reason why. The military in the infinite wisdom of its leadership has deemed it illegal for anyone to carry a weapon on their person, other than security forces personnel. Here we have a body of people who are some of the most highly trained weapons experts anywhere and they are not allowed to carry a personal weapon other than unloaded and in a locked container.

Does anyone in their right mind think that if Hasan had thought that even a few of the soldiers on Fort Hood were packing that he would have carried out the attack? Here was a mass concentration of military personnel, and not a loaded or functioning weapon to be found until security police showed up after 14 had died and 29 injured. The Islamic terrorists know this. Please note that Hasan did not attack soldiers at a firing range or at a security forces building where there are plenty of loaded weapons. Taking this even a step further, I’d be willing to bet that there will never be direct action at a National Rifle Association meeting by these knuckleheads. The goal is to hit the weakest spot and to make the biggest splash. What a better target than a group of soldiers who can’t fight back.

  1. Saw this coming....when is enough enough? Could say more, but why bother....no one seems to care...we have become a compliant nation and are allowing them to run our country into the ground because they are the religion of peace...remember?
