Is the OWS Party Racist?

Although the trend might be shifting, I still have to wonder (for the umpteenth time) why American Jews feel compelled to support Obama and the Democrats.

As you are most likely aware, the Occupy Wall Street protest have VERY strong ties to the progressive  movement, hence VERY strong ties to the democrats. Even President Obama has now aligned himself with the movement.

[White House Spokesman Josh] Earnest added that while on the trip, Obama will make it clear that he is fighting to make certain that the “interests of 99 percent of Americans are represented” – the first time the White House has used the term to differentiate the vast majority of Americans from the wealthy. It has become increasingly clear there is a segment of the OWS gang that has shown very evident anti-Semitic feelings.

In Los Angeles, California, protester, Patricia McAllister, who identified herself as an employee of the Low Angeles Unified School District (we can only hope she is not an educator), had this to say:

“I think that the Zionist Jews, who are running these big banks and our Federal Reserve, which is not run by the federal government…they need to be run out of this country.” (Source: Israel Today)

And:

Back in New York, another protester insisted that “a small ethic group constitutes almost all of the hedge fund managers and bankers on Wall St. They are all Jewish. There is a conspiracy in this country where Jews control the media, finances… They have pooled their money together in order to take control of America.” (Source: Israel Today)

With sentiment like that coming from people participating in these protests is any wonder this has happened:

On the American Nazi Party website, leader Rocky Suhayda voiced support for “Occupy Wall St” and asked, “Who hold the wealth and power in this country? The Judeo-Capitalists. Who is therefore the #1 enemy who makes this filth happen? The Judeo-Capitalists.” (Source: Israel Today)

Over the course of the last several months, beginning with the blockade issues, I have asked any of my Jewish readers, if there are any, why the continued support of Barack Obama and his democrat party. I have not received one response. Two possible scenarios: either I don’t have any Jewish readers or no one can answer that question.

To me, the scariest part of this emerging narrative from the OWS protests is how it parallels the talk in 1930s Germany as the Nazi Party was rising to power. At that time, the Germans-Jews enjoyed life as normal German citizens. But soon after Hitler rose to power, that began to change. It wasn’t overnight, but slowly at first. And it all began with talk like we are seeing from a small but vocal sector of the OWS movement.

Another point to consider here is how silent the lame stream media has become on this issue. The press was all over non-existent racism emanating from the Tea Party, even going as far as to push the made-up charges during the health care debate. Many left-wing and progressive commentators railed against the Tea Party as a bunch of racist nitwits. But here was have clear evidence of racism and bigotry coming from the left side of the ideological aisle and nary is a word uttered in the so-called free press. Will the press cover this or are the progressives, anarchist, Marxists, and general rebel-rousers a more coveted segment of the left than the Jewish segment?
