Repeal attempt in the Senate fails along party lines, 51-47. If this was a surprise to anyone, then you aren’t following the news. On the surface, this is not great news. Even if the repeal had passed the Senate, President Obama is on record as saying he would veto any attempt to repeal his health care bill (not really his). On a positive note, the 51 Senators are now on record twice supporting the takeover of 1/6th of the economy. Of those 51, I believe 12 of them face re-election next year. They are going to have to defend their record to the constituents. More than likely most of them reflect the overall opinion of the American people who do not want this monstrosity of government entitlement program.
