Responding to a question about racism that is depicted the play he stars in, “That Championship Season”, Kiefer Sutherlund said, “Racism is woven into the fabric of America.” (“The View”, 21 Mar 2011). What an incredibly asinine thing to say. Of course, most of the panel agreed with him whole-heartedly and did nothing to question his statement. To go along with his charges he provided no backup or examples, just a blanket statement.
He went on to say that the play also shows how racism is a family thing passed from father to son and grandfather to grandson. I didn’t stick around long enough to hear whether Sutherland or Joy(less) Behar went on to attack the Tea Party as examples of racism in America.
