Wisconsin Judge Might Have A Conflict of Interest?

Last week I blogged a bit about the temporary restraining order issued by Circuit Court Judge Maryann Sumi on the new Wisconsin law limiting collective bargaining by public sector employees.  I also pointed out this was the same judge who refused to force the striking protesting teachers back to the classrooms.

While I was writing the post it was running through my mind that based on here judgments that she might have more than a passing interest in these matters. Well, it turns out that her son is a union (progressive?) activist, heavily involved with AFL-CIO and SEIU, who have their share of public sector unions they represent. A column over at Big Government brings up the point that maybe she should have recused herself from the case.  What do you think?

  1. Me again...I am from upper Mi./but most of my life till I was 20 lived in Wis. I pray for Scott Walker and the senators protection from those liberal judges and unions....Figures that this judge has ties....Get rid of her..The people of Wis. want fiscal change and smaller gov. and this is why they voted for Scott.
